YOSHIKI CLASSICAL 10th Anniversary World Tour with Orchestra 2023 'REQUIEM'

YOSHIKI's classical world tour - YOSHIKI CLASSICAL 10th Anniversary World Tour with Orchestra 2023 "REQUIEM" started with 3 performances in Japan at the Tokyo Garden Theater on October 7th, 8th, and 9th.

The Japan performance marked the start of his first classical world tour in 9 years. YOSHIKI performed a series of famous songs with a full orchestra of 50 people. Piano songs included the new song "REQUIEM", dedicated to his late mother, "Anniversary", "Angel", "ENDLESS RAIN", "Tears", and X JAPAN's "Say Anything", which was performed with an orchestra for the first time.

Backed by a live orchestral performance of Tchaikovsky's "String Serenade" and Henryk Mikołaj Grecki's "Symphony of Elegies", YOSHIKI played the drums, fusing classical music and rock.
An impressive stage with lasers and led screens left the audience in awe.

Additionally, Filipino singer-songwriter Beverly and soprano singer Ai Ichihara appeared as guest vocalists. Beverly sang "Kiss the Sky'' and Attack on Titan Season 3 opening theme "Red Swan''. Ai Ichihara sang "Miracle'' and "Symphony of Elegies", creating a moving performance. During "Kiss the Sky," the entire audience joined together and sang the chorus creating a star lit sky with cell phone lights.
"Forever Love" and "Swan Lake" were performed in collaboration with the Asami Maki Ballet Company. The beautiful ballet and the magnificent piano melodies played by YOSHIKI created an unforgettable stage performance.

YOSHIKI talked about the song "REQUIEM", which is also the tour title:
"When my mother passed away, I was so devastated that I considered retiring. It was around this time that I received a world tour offer from my American agent WME. At first I thought it was mentally impossible. But when I used the last of my strength to compose a song, my tears turned into a melody, and I felt like this song saved me. If I can save myself, I can save everyone, I thought. Maybe then I should try this world tour. And so here I am standing on stage today. Thanks to all my fans, I am here. I will continue to create art that will support everyone's hearts. If I continue to create this, I hope to be able to give back to everyone in some small way."

Following the Japan performance, YOSHIKI will perform at Royal Albert Hall (London), Dolby Theater (L.A.), and Carnegie Hall (New York). This tour will be the first time a Japanese artist has headlined all these historic venues. The concerts will celebrate the tenth anniversary of his Yoshiki Classical album which reached #1 on iTunes Classical charts in 10 countries.
