At 12am on Thursday, October 27th JST, Coca-Cola Japan Inc. released a new brand film “REAL GOLD XY DNA - I’m Invincible”, highlighting REAL GOLD X and REAL GOLD Y energy drinks, created in collaboration with YOSHIKI of X JAPAN. The collaboration with YOSHIKI was born when Coca Cola Japan felt aligned with and inspired by YOSHIKI’s “NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE” philosophy, his unwavering will to always challenge himself with new endeavors, and his passion to “wholeheartedly support the next generation of challengers”. REAL GOLD X embodies the energy and excitement of YOSHIKI’s rock music, while REAL GOLD Y embodies the focus and concentration of his classical music.

This new brand film “REAL GOLD XY DNA - I’m Invincible” features an original song written by YOSHIKI, with appearances by YOSHIKI himself along with dancers, artists, and a professional gamer.

Brand Film “REAL GOLD XY DNA - I’m Invincible” (72 seconds, 15 seconds)

The film “REAL GOLD XY DNA - I’m Invincible” features young artists and tastemakers who share the same soul, passion, and vision as YOSHIKI. The film synchronizes footage of these artists in action with YOSHIKI’s archival footage, while words that have shaped YOSHIKI and have become the DNA of XY are spoken. At the end, those words transcend into words of the new generation. 

The film begins with YOSHIKI, alone in a large room, confronting his drums. YOSHIKI narrates “No matter what anyone says, I am working hard, that is what I tell myself.” The scene crosses over into footage of Gen Z artists pole dancing and double dutching, and YOSHIKI narrates “The moment I stop is when it falls apart.” The film shows the young artists in their difficult moments. With the next narration “We just have to keep pushing on”, the film moves into scenes of them looking forward once again and continuing to challenge themselves. Towards the end, vocals are added to the song, and smiles can be seen on faces of the artists as they have hit their milestones. Concluding the film is YOSHIKI narrating “I’m invincible,” and the text “NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE” on the screen.


The original song written and composed by YOSHIKI continues to evolve as if  it is a living being
The song in the film is an original piece written and composed by YOSHIKI. On May 10th, 2 brand films were released - “REAL GOLD X NEW Energy Version” where YOSHIKI plays the drums, and “REAL GOLD Y NEW Energy Version” where YOSHIKI plays the piano. On May 16th when the product was launched, a surprising reveal was unveiled where the 2 songs from the films merged into one whole new song. In this newly released film, vocals have been added to the ever-evolving song.

YOSHIKI Interview How long did you have the original song conceptualized?
I’ve had it in my head since the beginning of the year. I’ve made minor changes to the lyrics, but the melody line, piano, and drums were already conceptualized. 

This is a brand new way to release a new song. 
I believe that songs are living beings. I first released X, the rock song, and Y, the classical song. Then, these two songs, with melodies on complete opposite ends of the spectrum, come together as one - but it doesn’t end there. This time, with vocals added, I am showing you another step of this song's evolution. I’m hoping that this shows you a peek into what is goes on in my head.   

So this completes the song.

Could you tell us more about the part where you say, “I was reckless, but I was invincible” in the film?
Not only when I take the stage, but even in just everyday life, I’m an “invincible” type of person. People often worry about my busy schedule, but to me, it’s not too busy or hard unless I think it is. It’s all about perspective. It's whether you think the mountain is high or not, that’s all. Unless you think it’s high, it’s not high. 

A message for the new generation of fans?
Challenge your potential. Behind my philosophy “NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE” is hard work. There are spectacular people out there, continuing to work hard as we speak, and I am merely one of them. If you continue to work hard and keep trying, your path will open. I hope that you feel that from this film.

Nyanpi (professional gamer)

Born in 2002, Nyanpi began playing computer games at the age of 3. As a young child she was competing with adults and breaking records. Nyanpi landed in second place in June 2022 at SFL Tryout (mixed), and became the first female to obtain a JeSU-accredited professional license in the Fighting Game world. She is currently in pursuit of becoming the first female to win the world tournament.  

Momoka Mitsunaga (ballet dancer)

Born in Chiba prefecture, Momoka began ballet at 5 years old. She has landed top spots in contests in and outside of Japan, and at age 13 trained abroad at Bolshoi Ballet Academy and The Australian Ballet School. While attending  Kyoto Ballet Academy, Momoka also trained abroad at L’École de Danse de l’Opéra de Paris. Momoka has been awarded first place, Kyoto Prefecture Mayor’s Award at a tournament. After graduating in 2016, Momoka joined Maki Asami Ballet Tokyo, and was promoted to soloist. She made her debut as Prima Ballerina in The Three Musketeers, and continues to be selected as the principal dancer in many performances. She has also appeared in the Netflix series Terrace House and numerous TV commercials.

RIKU (Double Dutch)

Born in 2002, RIKU is the youngest member of professional double dutch team “NEWTRAD”. RIKU started “double dutching” at age 11, and by the following year he was competing at kids contests. He has won multiple awards including first place at Kansai Region Tournament when he was in middle school. At age 18 RIKU won first place and broke the Japan record in Speed Division at DOUBLE DUTCH CONTEST JAPAN U19.

Mariaki Sakurai (painter)

Born in 1996, Maria began to work as an artist while she was at Tama Art University. Her current work and portfolio is diverse, from solo exhibitions, murals, and brand collaborations. 

CIMA (pole dancer)

Born in 1993, CIMA set his goal to become the best pole dancer in the world. He is working consistently to reach that goal at a world competition taking place in October 2022. With a vision to change the status quo in Japan’s entertainment industry, CIMA created a mens sensual dance group “Kitashinchi Boyresque”. After serving as the leader, he now focuses on producing for new members of the group.
